Intense 8 days for Tyke 2...
It was a long 8 days of straight games for our little Chiefs and they worked hard to secure a couple wins and unfortunately a couple loses. The Chiefs started out strong with a massive win of 10-0 over CW....
With JV, CM, and GmC showing strong leadership throughout the game the Chiefs played extremely well and worked together as a team. Great plays and set ups resulting in goals by JP to AS to GmC and another beautiful play from JV to BL for another back of the net goal. Goals also scored by EvM and AS! Awesome job Chiefs...
The next night the Chiefs welcomed the KW Braves into their arena.. a little hesitant due to rumours of this team but.... Chiefs proved they were a force not to be messed with. Although the Braves stayed strong throughout the Chiefs prevailed with a win of 3-2... Goals scored by JV, EvM (assisted by ELLA!!!! GO GIRL GO) and AT. KW was not to happy they lost but the Chiefs were ecstatic! Feeling nervous going into the game and strong when they prevailed! Great Job Chiefs!...
The Chiefs then went into a tournament where they won their first game against CW but were unable to defeat Orangeville. There was some quality bonding time though as the kids and families BBQ'd together and celebrated Father's Day as a team!...
The Chiefs then went straight into another 2 games in a row... The next night the Chiefs hosted Guelph and unfortunately looked to be out of steam. With a final score of 7-4 Guelph took the lead in the first period and the Chiefs just could not catch up. Goals were scored by CM, AS, GmC(assisted by GfC and JV) and JV. Good try Chiefs!...
The last game of the 8 days was again against KW... this time they were ready... knowing we had just come off a tournament and another game they hit hard. The Chiefs got the first goal by JV but by the start of the third period the Braves were up 3-1 and with another goal by IK that was it for the Chiefs, the Braves sent out their heavy hitters and put 5 more in the net... AB played a great game in net forcing KW to hit multiple cross bars and posts but with shot after shot after shot unfortunately some snuck through... can't win them all guys!!
Now after that long 8 day stretch the Chiefs are getting rested up and focusing on some exhibition games, zone playoffs and provincials coming up in July and August... Good Luck Chiefs, use your practice time well and rest up!! ~Go Chiefs Go~
