Hello All,

As we begin the process of having tryouts and selecting teams for your Centres, I want to clarify something which has come up a couple of times now, and may again.

 1. There is no such thing as “permission to tryout” or “permission to run”, or any other variation of that, in Minor lacrosse. Players can not be given permission to go to their next closest Centre to tryout or be evaluated or anything else while your Club decides if it is fielding a team or not. If you are not having a team, then our Registrar needs to be notified by your Club, so that those affected players can register with their next closest Centre and be approved. Until such time as a player is cut, released or your Centre does not field a team in that age group, the player can not be on the field with any other Club.

2. MR 2.08 (b) was voted on by the Clubs at the AGM. It was a re-wording and amalgamation of the former 2.08 (b) and (c). It is very clear and applies to all minor sectors for 2018, not just OMFLL. A player must register in their home Centre first. If the player is cut, or there is no team for them this season, then they go to their next closest Centre for 2018. In 2019, they must then return to their home Centre and register. If they are again cut, or have no team to play on, they would return back to their next closest Centre permanently. Thank you,
