Equipment
Lacrosse is a moderate impact sport meaning it is very important that your child have the proper equipment to protect themselves and keep them safe.
The equipment worn in lacrosse is similar to the gear worn by hockey players, with the exception that there are no shin pads or protective pants worn and of course no skates!
Like most other sports, there is a wide variety of equipment available to the players depending on their age and/or skill level. Any of our members or coaches will be happy to help suggest the proper equipment for your child if you are unsure of what is needed.
Below is a guide provided by the
Ontario Lacrosse Association
which gives an excellent summary of the equipment required to play.
U5 Soft Lacrosse Equipment Requirements
(as this is non contact) are:
- Helmet*
- Lacrosse Stick (24"-26" from bottom of the head)
- Running Shoes
- Lacrosse Gloves (hockey gloves are accepted)
*All helmets must be CSA approved for ice hockey or NOCSAE approved.
